Matlab stopping support for Windows XP and Windows Vista and 32-bit Windows
ChemIT received the below informational email from MATLAB 11/21/2013, “because [we had] recently activated MATLAB on a platform that will be impacted by an upcoming support change, or [we] are the administrator or asset manager of a network license (Concurrent, Network Named User, TEH, TAH) for MathWorks products and [we] may be impacted.”
MathWorks periodically updates platform support in response to shifts in usage, and is planning the following platform changes:
New Platforms
• Windows 8.1: Support begins with R2013a
• OS X 10.9 (Mavericks): Support begins with R2013a
Dropped Platforms
• Windows XP and Windows Vista: R2014b is likely to be the last release supporting Windows XP and Windows Vista. Impacted users are advised to migrate to a newer release of Windows at this time.
• 32-bit Windows: MathWorks will stop producing new releases for 32-bit Windows in the next couple of years. 32-bit Windows users are advised to migrate to 64-bit Windows at this time. This road map will be updated when more definitive sunset plans are made.
See the platform road map <http://www.mathworks.com/support/sysreq/roadmap.html> for the latest information on planned platform changes to MATLAB and Simulink products.
Sincerely,
