CU Electronic Directory: Not to show employee’s cell phone numbers by default, by 11/29/2013
Scheduled Service Change – Directory Display of Employee Information

Description:
On Sunday, November 24, at the request of Cornell Human Resources, the Cornell Electronic Directory will be updated so that employees’ mobile phone numbers will no longer be displayed. By approximately November 29, all employee records will have had this change applied.
At this time, Human Resources will not be advising employees about this change. Employees who want their mobile number to be shown in the Electronic Directory will need to use Workday to set the number to “Public” (All About Me -> Personal Information -> Contact Information -> Edit -> Phone Number -> Details).
Technical details: Mobile phone numbers will be set to a non-public attribute. If your unit has a business need to access this attribute, you will need to obtain approval from HR; please contact idmgmt@cornell.edu for more information. Access will be provided via a specific, non-anonymous LDAP bind ID.
Affected Services: Cornell Directory (SunONE).
Anticipated User Impact: Display of employee phone numbers will be different. There will not be an outage.
